As well as producing renewable energy, we also produce biofertiliser, a renewable alternative to manufactured nitrogen products.
We are pleased to have retained our accreditation for our biofertiliser under the Biofertiliser Certification Scheme for the third year running. This scheme regulates the production of biofertiliser, and assures the product as a stringent raft of controls are in place to ensure the food safety and quality of the biofertiliser. Without this accreditation, the material remains a waste and has to be spread to land with Environment Agency approval. With our product status we do not need permission from the Environment Agency to spread the biofertiliser, it can be used as a nitrogen fertiliser replacement much more easily.
Our biofertiliser is compliant with PAS110 and the Anaerobic Digestion Quality Protocol, the two documents which must be adhered to to gain and maintain product status. Our biofertiliser is rigorously tested on a monthly basis and we are inspected on a yearly basis to retain our accreditation. We are also inspected regularly by AHVLA and the EA to ensure we are complaint with our regulatory requirements.
